Dive Deep:

Explore Conscious Connected Breathwork

Conscious connected breathwork is a powerful technique that allows us to gently access an altered state of consciousness and experience transformation within our bodies, mind and mood. It cultivates mindfulness of the body and emotions, leading to greater acceptance towards ourselves.

Our breath has the capability of connecting us with our body’s innate wisdom to address unhealed parts of our nervous system. It’s a simple, effective tool for stress, anxiety, low mood, PTSD, grief, life changes, and gaining clarity around our life and purpose.

By joining inhalations and exhalations in a gentle, continuous flow, you can:

  • Rebalance the nervous system

  • Experience inner calm

  • Release emotional blockages

  • Access altered states of consciousness

  • Enhance self-awareness

  • Promote deep inner healing

  • Strengthen your spiritual connection

What to Expect During Breathwork

During introduction, you’ll have a chance to share any challenges you’re facing and your intention for your breathwork session. All shares are optional. We’ll then explain the breathwork style we’ll be using.

The next 45 minutes are dedicated to breathwork. Laying down, you will be supported into the conscious connected breath pattern. This is when the first stages of processing, integration, insights and emotional releases can occur. We’ll end with 15 mins of rest and deep relaxation.

Before leaving, there will be time for you to share and integrate your experience. Sharing is never mandatory and confidentiality is promised with every session.

Breathwork offers us a path to self-awareness and authenticity, where we can safely explore our inner world and create big shifts in our lives.

Our trained facilitators are here to help guide you on this journey and are happy to answer any questions you might have. Desiree and Margaret can be reached through White Oaks.

About Your Facilitators

Desiree Taylor

Desiree Taylor

Hello and welcome! Since 2009, I’ve had the privilege of helping people on their path to wellness as a Registered Massage Therapist.

In 2022, I completed my training as a Breathwork Facilitator. I aim to create a welcoming space where I work with your body’s innate healing wisdom.

Whether your imbalances are derived from physical injury or emotional distress, my intention is to help your body, mind and soul move into a state of balance and harmony. I understand that emotions, memories and traumas can be held physically in the body. My hope is to help you uncover those blockages as you move forward in your healing process.

It’s an honor to have you entrust me with your challenges and one that I don’t take lightly. I promise to help you to the best of my ability.

Margaret Pineda

Margaret Pineda

My experience of burnout, career frustration and sudden health issues as a new mom led me down a path of holistic healing. I studied the nervous system, breath, mind and body and discovered that it’s possible to feel even more alive and spacious after kids.

I bring my experience in the healing arts and knowledge as a Massage Therapist to my role as a Breathwork Facilitator and am deeply passionate about helping others navigate life’s changes through the breath and body.

As a healthcare provider, I see the growing desire that people have to find a practical tool to deal with stress, trauma, and pain in their own empowered way. Breathwork offers us a path to reclaiming our energy so we can focus on the things that matter most to us.

FAQs

Are there any conditions that aren’t safe for breathwork?

Breathwork may not be for everyone and should not be practiced if you have:

  • severe asthma

  • breathing difficulties

  • cardiovascular problems

  • recent surgery

  • epilepsy

  • history of seizures

  • any diagnosed severe mental illness like schizophrenia or bipolar disorder.

Please note that this is not an extensive list and if you are unsure if breathwork is right for you, please consult your physician before attending.

Is there anything I can do to prepare?

Please refrain from drugs or alcohol 24 hours leading up to the event. It’s helpful to reflect on your intention for coming to breathwork. Is there something you want to let go of, invite into your life, or something you want clarity about? From our experience, being willing and ready to explore your inner world is the key to a transformative journey.

There’s many forms of breathwork. How is conscious connected breathing different?

Conscious connected breathing connects us intimately with our bodies and is great for working with an intention (something you want to explore, let go of, or invite into your life) and letting the body guide you towards that.

This style of breathing puts us gently into a non-ordinary state that allows us to be with sensations, emotions, and subconscious patterns so we can rebalance our nervous system, regulate our breathing, relax our bodies, and experience deeper insights.

This is not meditational style breathing. It’s more of a journey into yourself that can be very different each time. In our sessions, we enhance your experience with curated therapeutic music.

How many participants can I expect at a group event?

We limit our group size to about 15 participants. We’ve found this to be a wonderful group size for feeling like you’re in community but also intimate enough.

I don’t feel comfortable in a group. Do you offer private sessions?

Yes, Desiree and Margaret both offer private breathwork sessions from their home offices. They are not offered at White Oaks at this time. For more info, please visit their websites:

Desiree: www.driftwithin.com

Margaret: www.thespaciousbreath.com

Do you offer private group ceremonies?

Yes, absolutely. Reach out to Desiree or Margaret if you’d like to bring breathwork to your group. You can also use our contact form.
